F-Droid 2.0: A New Chapter for Android Freedom

F-Droid has released version 2.0, its largest app update in 10 years, featuring a complete redesign with a modern interface, improved app discovery, and simplified navigation organized into three main sections: Discover, Search, and My Apps. The update was built using Kotlin Compose and redesigned to follow current Android design standards while maintaining familiar F-Droid features. Key improvements include better discoverability of free and open-source Android apps through an enhanced Discover screen, expanded categories, and improved search functionality—all without user tracking.
