Explore Wikipedia Like a Windows XP Desktop

A developer has created an interactive Windows XP-style desktop interface that allows users to explore Wikipedia categories as folders and browse Wikimedia Commons images as files. The project, called explorer.samismith.com, also includes an in-progress Geofile Explorer feature for exploring Earth as a folder system with drag-and-drop functionality for images and notes. The interface reimagines how users can navigate Wikipedia and media content through a nostalgic operating system metaphor.
