The author argues that everyone should build their own network stack for true decentralization, so that vulnerabilities in any single implementation wouldn't compromise the entire internet. After initially starting this project called DNet four years ago to learn networking, the author recently revived it and deployed a custom network stack on DN42 (a decentralized network) that now serves as an authoritative DNS server for their domain, successfully handling DNS queries across the internet.
