EDG C++ front-end goes public

EDG's C++ front-end, which has powered industry C++ compilation for 30 years, will become open source on September 30, 2026, with The C++ Alliance serving as its nonprofit home. The transition maintains the same engine and professional maintenance standards while opening development to community contributions through three tracks: user-submitted bug fixes and features, ongoing maintenance by Alliance developers, and collectively funded larger features. All changes will be released simultaneously to a single public repository with no early access privileges.
