Economic Policy for AGI

As AI capabilities advance rapidly, policymakers face uncertainty about whether AGI will cause widespread job displacement similar to past technological shocks or create new opportunities as previous innovations have done. The article argues that unlike past technological transitions where governments responded reactively after disruption occurred, societies should now develop flexible, data-driven economic policies with clear triggers that can adapt to AGI's actual economic impacts as they unfold.
