EA is shutting down BioWare

EA has confirmed the closure of BioWare, the legendary studio behind iconic RPGs like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, along with cancellation of the next Mass Effect game in development. The shutdown is part of a broader restructuring that includes approximately 400 job cuts across EA, with around 50 at BioWare, following the company's $55 billion acquisition by a Saudi-led investor group in August 2024.
