Deser: Rethinking Rust Serialization

Armin Ronacher discusses fundamental limitations in Serde, Rust's popular serialization library, highlighting three corner cases where feature interactions and design constraints cause unexpected failures—such as issues with arbitrary precision numbers, flattened structures with integer keys, and non-composable custom deserializers. Rather than attempt to fix Serde's design-level problems, Ronacher began experimenting with an alternative serialization library called Deser to explore potential improvements to Rust's serialization ecosystem.
