Deno 2.9 introduces deno desktop, an experimental feature for building native desktop applications from web frameworks without Electron boilerplate, compiling to a single binary with native APIs and webview rendering. The release also simplifies Node.js project migration by allowing deno install to read npm, pnpm, yarn, and Bun lockfiles directly, alongside improvements to CSS module imports, the test runner, startup performance, and Node.js 26 compatibility.
