CSS-Tricks in Limbo

CSS-Tricks, acquired by Digital Ocean in 2022, has fallen inactive again after the company rehired lead editor Geoff Graham in June 2024 to revive the site. The lack of communication about the site's future comes as Digital Ocean recently pledged $3 million to Omarchy (a project led by David Heinemeier Hansson) while simultaneously ceasing $50 monthly payments to GNOME and Flathub infrastructure, raising questions about the company's priorities regarding open-source funding and its own publication.
