Cloudflare has launched K2, a serverless event streaming service that decouples producers and consumers by storing events as a durable, ordered log, preventing data loss even during consumer downtime. Built on R2 object storage and designed to operate across Cloudflare's global edge infrastructure, K2 solves the scalability challenges of traditional RPC architectures where producers and consumers must align in real-time. The service is now available in public beta and can handle large data volumes with independent, flexible consumption patterns.
