Claude Code Teaching macOS to Natively Print to the HP Laser 1008a
A developer successfully reverse-engineered HP's SPL3 raster language and ran HP's codec in a Linux container to enable native macOS printing support for the HP LaserJet 1008a printer, which was never officially supported on Mac. The project was completed in a single four-hour session using Claude Code Opus 4.8 with a 1M context window.
