Choosing an AI model: one prompt, 11 models, different results

Netlify has partnered with OpenRouter to expand AI model options available through its AI Gateway and Agent Runners, now including frontier models like Kimi K3, GLM 5.2, and DeepSeek V4 alongside existing options from Claude, OpenAI, and Gemini. To help users choose the right model, Netlify tested multiple models using identical prompts with their open-sourced AXIS evaluation tool, focusing on functional correctness such as proper database usage and cost-effectiveness rather than design aesthetics.
