Carnegie Mellon University Announces Historic $3B Gift from Ken Griffin

Ken Griffin has donated a historic $3 billion to Carnegie Mellon University, making it the largest individual gift in higher education history. The gift includes $1 billion for CMU's Pittsburgh campus, with $500 million designated for the School of Computer Science, and $2 billion to launch a new CMU Miami campus in the Wynwood neighborhood expected to begin enrolling students in 2028. The Miami campus will be organized around societal challenges and designed to pioneer a new model for higher education focused on innovation and addressing critical issues.
