Calling It Quits on ServerFault

After 15 years as a moderator on ServerFault, elected in the first community election in 2011, SysAdmin1138 is stepping down from the role. The site has experienced significant decline since its peak in 2011-2012, now receiving only 2-3 questions daily due to algorithm changes and shifting traffic patterns, with moderation duties increasingly focused on spam rather than community governance. While the moderator's tenure included managing intense cultural conflicts and coordinated spam campaigns, the site's stagnation and lack of policy debates have made continued moderation less meaningful.
