Brazilian farmers in Paraná tokenized 10 dairy cows on the B3 stock exchange, raising nearly $20,000 in credit as a workaround to increasingly strict bank lending limits. The agtech firm Cowmed uses AI-powered smart collars that monitor each cow's health and location in real time, creating encrypted digital identities that prevent fraud and double-pledging while enabling livestock to serve as formal collateral. With Cowmed already tracking about 100,000 cows worth over $395 million, the company expects this tokenized financing model could unlock up to $77.6 million in new agricultural credit.
