Castor is an open-source tool that extracts video streams from web pages and casts them directly to smart TVs at full quality, bypassing limitations of standard casting protocols like Chromecast and AirPlay. The tool uses headless Chrome to capture streams, transcodes them for TV compatibility, and can automatically add subtitles, all controllable from the terminal. Installation requires Chrome/Chromium, ffmpeg, and ffprobe, with Docker available as an alternative for Linux users.
