A 26-year-old Belgian car salesman, Clément Vandenkerckhove, has become a prince after a DNA test confirmed that Prince Laurent, the King of Belgium's brother, is his biological father. Vandenkerckhove was legally recognized as Laurent's son about six months ago, giving him equal inheritance rights to his father's private estate, though he will not receive a royal allowance, take on official duties, or have any claim to the throne. His mother, Belgian singer Wendy Van Wanten, had kept his paternity secret until he turned 16, having dated Prince Laurent in the 1990s.
