Awesome repositories are no longer awesome

Awesome repositories on GitHub, once valuable curated lists of resources, have become increasingly irrelevant due to two factors: many are outdated because they lack active maintenance, and AI-generated spam now floods them with generic, low-quality tools and resources. While some maintainers actively filter out poor submissions, the prevalence of automated pull requests promoting low-effort websites has significantly diminished the utility of these once-trusted collections.
