Apple sues OpenAI, accuses ex-employees of stealing trade secrets

Apple has filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, alleging that former Apple employees, including ex-VP of product design Tang Tan and senior engineer Chang Liu, stole trade secrets and confidential information about unreleased technologies to benefit OpenAI. The lawsuit claims Tan used insider knowledge of Apple's confidential projects during job interviews and directed candidates to bring Apple hardware samples, with Apple first raising concerns in February that went unanswered. OpenAI's hardware division is being led by Jony Ive, Apple's former chief design officer, following OpenAI's $6.5 billion acquisition of Ive's startup io.
