Apache Iggy, a message streaming platform written in Rust, has graduated from the Apache Incubator to become an official Apache Software Foundation Top-Level Project as of August 19th, 2026. The project began in March 2023 as a personal learning experiment by Piotr Gankiewicz and grew into a thriving open-source community with global contributors, featuring high-performance architecture including thread-per-core design and single-digit millisecond latencies. The graduation represents a milestone that ensures the project's long-term sustainability as a truly independent open-source initiative.
