America's Wumao: Inside Polymarket's Paid Quote-Retweet Esports Program

Polymarket, a prediction market platform, is paying over 800 social media users to quote-retweet content from its branded esports accounts, offering payments ranging from $10 to several hundred dollars per post in crypto. While the paid partnerships carry disclosure tags on X and comply with guidelines, internal Discord messages reveal Polymarket representatives repeatedly instructed participants to make posts appear "organic" to better appeal to esports fans and casual observers. The program has more than doubled in size since August, raising concerns about the scale and sophistication of influencing social media discourse around prediction markets.
