StartLux, a new company founded by Chen Danyan (known as the "godfather of programmers"), has emerged as a dark horse in China's AI race by achieving second place in the CAICT MCP specialized test with its 27-billion parameter model—just 1.3 percentage points behind DeepSeek-V4-Pro's 1.6 trillion parameters. The company focuses on developing efficient, locally-run AI models that can operate on consumer-grade PCs rather than cloud infrastructure, positioning itself as the world's first truly localized model company. This breakthrough demonstrates that significantly smaller models can achieve comparable performance to trillion-parameter cloud models in real-world agent capabilities.
