A brief history of Windows scroll bar shortcuts

Windows scroll bars have evolved over two decades with several navigation shortcuts: clicking arrows scrolls by line, clicking between the thumb and arrows scrolls by page, and dragging the thumb positions the view directly. Windows 7 added a right-click context menu with a convenient "Scroll Here" option and a lesser-known Shift+click shortcut that jumps the thumb to a clicked position. However, most modern applications now use custom scroll bars from frameworks like Electron, WPF, and WinUI, many of which lack these Windows shortcuts, making them less accessible to users familiar with native Windows controls.
