Europe is experiencing its fifth major heat dome of the season, with temperatures exceeding 40°C across France, the UK, Italy, Central Europe, and the Balkans as a high-pressure ridge locks in place over the continent. The extreme heat is accompanied by minimal nighttime relief, with lows remaining between 22-26°C, creating severe health risks and exacerbating wildfire conditions.
